Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 million. Then, shortly after she resigned from the company. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. By February 2020, she had closed 53 deals. One of them was a purchase of $350,000 for Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was the second child in the family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was an exemplary household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved from job to job throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran remembers her father as a man who occasionally was a drinker and treated her mother with disrespect and contempt, particularly when he was drinking. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at a Catholic elementary and then started high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was fluent in several classes during her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
